Cute Sheep or Nasty Wolf

Currently, in the town we are serving the Lord in, there are many (supposedly saved) Christians going around telling people not to come to our church. How sad this is, and it truly breaks our hearts, especially when we think of all the souls that are not being saved as a result. However, recently one morning, I read a verse assuring me we are not alone, but Christians need to bear in mind this attack is real, happening every day, and we should not ignore it.

II Corinthians 11:13-15 “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.”

We need to be praying for the church, more so in the last days as we see the signs approaching that Christ could return at any time.

Hebrews 10:25-25 “And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: 25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”

This is a quote from my daily devotional Feature “Christians in these last days must face the reality of wolves in sheep’s clothing who merchandise in hidden things of dishonesty, walk in craftiness, and handle the Word of God deceitfully.” It is such a shame that churches are allowing these imposters in, they are allowing them to control the church, to control ministries, ladies’ ministries, children’s ministries, the choir, etc. They are controlling Pastors so the Pastor can keep his paycheck and the church can gain in numbers and have worldly fame. Now, not all churches that are big and prospering are being led astray by Satan’s ministers of righteousness. In my years of service and observation, there are many still holding onto the old paths. Let’s keep praying for them to hold on tight through Satan’s attacks.

Jeremiah 6:16 “Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls…”

Praise the Lord for the Pastors, deacons, and church members who can spot the wolf in sheep’s clothing or as the Bible says, “false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.”

In these times, all Christians need to be on the alert for deceitful apostles of Christ.

II Peter 1:8-9 “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.”

We cannot keep a wolf in sheep’s clothing outside the church from spreading lies and rumours, but we can keep the wolf in sheep’s clothing from coming into the church and infiltrating the church. As for those outside the church, all we can do is pray. God is in control and in his divine and holy wisdom, he will someday take care of all those who are not truly his and for those who are his and backslidden, he will also reward accordingly.

Romans 12:17-19 “Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. 18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. 19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.”

So, spot those wolves in sheep’s clothing, avoid them, send them packing out of the church. Hold fast to the sound doctrines and principles taught in God’s Word and don’t let anyone lead you astray or your church astray.

II Thessalonians 2:15 “Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.”

Go on with the best ability the Lord has given you and serve him until he calls you home. So, you can hear from your beloved Saviour, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

Matthew 25:23 “His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.”

I was born in 1967 and I have been living in sunny Whakatane, New Zealand since Christmas 2010. My husband pastors a church and it has been a delight living in New Zealand. We both are originally from Maryland, USA. I have been amazed at the beautiful landscapes and stunning wildlife, especially the birds in New Zealand. Many of the native birds visit our modest yard on a daily basis. I was blessed at one time to have several aviaries with finches. In 2021, I had surgery to remove my appendix which was filled with cancer and then breast cancer surgery and radiation. It was an interesting year. Prior to my surgeries, my husband had two back surgeries. I'm glad God knows best even if I do not understand all he is doing. In 2022, for 6 months, I traveled to the US to put my youngest daughter into college in Arizona. People I met, during this trip, spiritually lifted me up in ways they will never understand. I'm glad God is in control of everything. Resting, gardening, and reading my Bible are cherished pastimes. It gets my mind off everything. We all need those places we can go and get our minds off everything. A place that is encouraging and comforting and at the same time give a little pricking of the heart to keep us trying our best to serve the Lord. I hope this Blog will be such a place for you. A place to find encouragement and comfort along with a few smiles.
