{"id":1170,"date":"2021-10-11T10:07:53","date_gmt":"2021-10-10T21:07:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sonbeamsandshadows.com\/?p=1170"},"modified":"2021-10-11T10:12:15","modified_gmt":"2021-10-10T21:12:15","slug":"leave-it","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sonbeamsandshadows.com\/index.php\/2021\/10\/11\/leave-it\/","title":{"rendered":"Leave It\u2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the Lord\u2019s Hands!<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLife is not easy for most of us. Right?\u201d We Christian ladies are trying our best to live right for our Lord and Savior. On top of the normal problems of life: aging issues, health issues, family issues, work issues, etc. At times, we even have other people (sometimes other Christians) treat us poorly. It hurts deeply when others gossip and spread rumors about us. It can even hurt our family and our children. \u201cUrggh\u201d, we feel backed up against a wall and do not know what to do.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes, our flesh wants to step in and just get back at someone for doing us wrong. What do we do? As hard as it may be \u2013 leave it in the Lord\u2019s hands.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">I Peter 5:7 <em>\u201cCasting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>We are all human and at times, we just want to get back at people who do us wrong. However, we are supposed to step back and leave our problems with the Lord. He will tend to them \u2013 in his time.<\/p>\n<p>I found the following story quite interesting as God had his revenge on the enemy of King Ahab. So be encouraged and know God is still in control of things and he <u>will<\/u> avenge our enemies.<\/p>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Here goes the story:<\/span><\/h5>\n<p>Recently, I was reading I Kings 20 and King Ahab (King of Israel), through the Lord\u2019s help, defeated the Syrians (the enemy). But reading further on in the chapter, the Syrian\u2019s did not stay down. They planned to come back for a second battle. They did not recognize a few things about the Lord of Israel. Today, our enemies do not recognize these things either.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">I Kings 20:23 <em>\u201cAnd the servants of the king of Syria said unto him, Their gods are gods of the hills; therefore they were stronger than we; but let us fight against them in the plain, and surely we shall be stronger than they.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Notice three things:<\/span><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>One<\/strong> \u2013 They did not recognize God as God Almighty. They called him \u201cgods\u201d with a little \u2018g\u2019 and thought God Almighty was just another worldly god of another nation. Mark 12:32 <em>\u201c\u2026for there is one God; and there is none other but he:\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Two<\/strong> \u2013 They certainly did not recognize God\u2019s Almighty Power. They thought Israel\u2019s \u2018god\u2019 was only strong in the hills. John 1:3 <em>\u201cAll things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Three<\/strong> \u2013 They certainly never thought God Almighty knew all and that he knew their plans to defeat King Ahab. Ps 9:11 <em>\u201cThe Lord knoweth the thoughts of man&#8230;\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When people do us wrong, or gossip about us, they are not realizing (or they are forgetting) God is God Almighty, God All Powerful, and God All Knowing.<\/p>\n<p>Since God is all the wonderful traits above, he greatly helped King Ahab and Israel. Prior to verse 23, God already knew the Syrians plans.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">I Kings 20:22 <em>\u201cAnd the prophet came to the king of Israel, and said unto him, Go, strengthen thyself, and mark, and see what thou doest: for at the return of the year the king of Syria will come up against thee.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>God knew what the Syrians thought of him.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">I Kings 20:28 <em>\u201cAnd there came a man of God, and spake unto the king of Israel, and said, Thus saith the Lord, <u>Because the Syrians have said, The Lord is God of the hills, but he is not God of the valleys,<\/u> therefore will I deliver all this great multitude into thine hand, and ye shall know that I am the Lord.\u201d<\/em><\/span><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-569 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/sonbeamsandshadows.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/merged-table-fire-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"174\" height=\"261\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sonbeamsandshadows.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/merged-table-fire-scaled.jpg 1707w, https:\/\/sonbeamsandshadows.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/merged-table-fire-768x1152.jpg 768w, https:\/\/sonbeamsandshadows.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/merged-table-fire-1024x1536.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/sonbeamsandshadows.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/merged-table-fire-1365x2048.jpg 1365w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 174px) 100vw, 174px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>God also knew King Ahab was doubting God would help and he needed some comfort and assurance. So, God comforted King Ahab and reassured him when he said, <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>\u201c\u2026I deliver all this great multitude into thine hand, and ye shall know that I am<\/em><\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em> the Lord.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Just like us. Sometimes, we like to have comfort and encouragement that things will be \u2018okay.\u2019 My advice, \u201cStay in God\u2019s Word on a daily basis.\u201d God cannot comfort and encourage if you do not talk\/pray to him and read his Word.<\/p>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Back to our battle.<\/span><\/h5>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">The battle begins in<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"> v27 <em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">\u201c\u2026th<\/span>e children of Israel pitched before them like two little flocks of kids; but the Syrians filled the country.\u201d<\/em> v29 <em>\u201c\u2026the children of Israel slew of the Syrians an hundred thousand footmen in one day.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Then, the Syrians fled to Aphek and God had <em>\u201c\u2026a wall fell upon twenty and seven thousand of the men that were left.\u201d<\/em>v30<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">\u201cWow! Did you catch that? God had a wall fall and kill the remaining 27,000 Syrian soldiers.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Read on about Ahab. He was not a good King. He was quite wicked. In the next chapter, Elijah has this to tell King Ahab.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">I Kings 21:20-21 <em>\u201c\u2026because thou hast sold thyself to work evil in the sight of the Lord. 21 Behold, I will bring evil upon thee, and will take away thy posterity\u2026\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Why would God help King Ahab during battle in chapter 20? I believed God stepped in on this battle only because he knew what the Syrians (the world) thought of him. He knew they did not believe he was God Almighty, All Powerful, and All Knowing. He did not help Ahab because of who Ahab was. He won this battle so the world (the enemy of Israel) would know \u201cHe is God!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>So, if God would step in on a battle for King Ahab, knowing how wicked he was, just to prove he is God Almighty to the world, how much more can we depend upon our loving God to step in to help us \u2013 his children \u2013 in a time of need.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Matthew 7:11 <em>\u201cIf ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>One thing we need to keep in mind. Revenge is of the Lord. We need to step back and let him be God. As hard as it may be, \u201cLeave it in the Lord\u2019s hands.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Romans 12:19 <em>\u201cDearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; <u>I will repay<\/u>, saith the Lord.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-568 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/sonbeamsandshadows.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/cropped-for-blog-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"232\" height=\"111\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sonbeamsandshadows.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/cropped-for-blog-scaled.jpg 2560w, https:\/\/sonbeamsandshadows.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/cropped-for-blog-768x368.jpg 768w, https:\/\/sonbeamsandshadows.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/cropped-for-blog-1536x736.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/sonbeamsandshadows.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/cropped-for-blog-2048x982.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 232px) 100vw, 232px\" \/>God is our comforter. He is there for us. When all else fails. When people fail us \u2013 and they will. He is there for us. Keep serving the Lord and \u201cLeave your worries and problems in the Lord\u2019s hands. Leave it alone and let God have his vengeance.\u201d Notice in our verse above, God says, <em>\u201c\u2026<u>I will repay<\/u>, saith the Lord.\u201d<\/em> It does not say \u201cI might repay.\u201d It says <em>\u201c\u2026I will repay<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As for me, \u201cI have lived long enough to see God\u2019s vengeance on others. It is not a pretty sight. Not all who have treated me poorly has my Lord avenged, but I have to keep my focus that his vengeance is in his timing and <u>it will come<\/u>. I should also be praying my enemies would get their lives right with God.\u201d But that is another post for another time. Basically, \u201cI should not just be praying, \u2018God avenge my enemies.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>God will have his vengeance. He does not lie, and he will keep his word.<\/p>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Here are a few verses to end with:<\/span><\/h5>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Psalm 37:1 <em>\u201cFret not thyself because of evildoers, <\/em><em>neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Psalm 34:19 <em>\u201cMany are the afflictions of the righteous: <\/em><em>but the Lord delivereth him out of them <strong>all<\/strong>.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Psalm 27:14 <em>\u201cWait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>In conclusion, if God would help wicked King Ahab, how much more does our Almighty God who is All Powerful and All Knowing also want to help his children who are serving him?
