It says he will supply our needs.

Second:

But, how much of our needs? All! I don’t know why we worry about food, shelter, etc. because it says in the verse above that God will supply all our needs. The car we drive may not be new. It might have rusty spots. We may not have the latest iPhone, but we will have a phone. We also may not be able to eat out as much as we’d like, and we may not have the fanciest foods in our shopping cart; but we will have food.

Just yesterday, I explained to my husband that my garden hasn’t done well this year and we don’t have many tomatoes. I had wanted to can a special tomato relish this year. To keep the story short, a neighbor of ours called an hour later. He asked my husband, “Would Kim like twelve pounds of tomatoes?”

Third:

My thought is this. “How many of our needs does God supply and we don’t notice them?”

Let me give you a story about one of my flowers I’ve planted.

I planted a new flower a couple years ago called Calendula. It is in the Marigold family and the whole flower is edible and is packed with antioxidants. I decided to grow it a couple years ago. It grew profusely all over the place. It bloomed and bloomed. I picked the flowers and dried them on a windowsill and placed them in canning jars. I used the dried flowers in soups and teas. But I didn’t use it that often because it didn’t taste that great. It had an earthy and slightly bitter taste to it.

Every so often, when I was in the garden, I’d pick one or two flowers and eat them. Then I’d try to eat a berry or something to take away the slightly woodsy taste.

Over the past year, my Calendula flowers sort of died off. I travelled some and wasn’t here to keep them growing. My husband sprayed and we both pulled out some new seedlings trying to grow. It grew like Marigolds. Everywhere a seed fell, it grew. And it grew all year long in New Zealand’s mild climate.

Recently, I developed some eye issues. Through knowledge God allowed me to gain in life, I knew I needed an eye vitamin with Zeaxanthin. It is a supplement that is good for eye health. Researching which vitamins to buy, I finally found one with Zeaxanthin. And guess what? You probably have figured this out now. Zeaxanthin comes from the edible marigold, specifically Calendula.

I ordered my vitamins. They came and right on the back label it reads, “Zeaxanthin from Marigold.” I told my husband, “Isn’t God something. I wish I hadn’t let my Calendula crop die off. I will have to get it growing again. Right here in my yard, God had me grow a flower that he knew I would need. He was trying to supply all my needs. I am currently eating my dried flowers in tea until I can get my Calendula producing again.

The final summary of this is. God says he will supply all our needs, but I believe sometimes we don’t see him supplying our needs. I didn’t eat a lot of the flowers when I had them because they had an earthy taste. They were not sweet.

God is like that though. He gives us what we need but it may not be what we want because it doesn’t taste sweet or feel good.

I’ll just leave it at that and let you ponder what God may be doing in your life that doesn’t taste sweet or feel good, but it may be what you need.

Philippians 4:19 “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 4:19 “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” This is just a simple thought …

[5,3
417,418,45,36,414,415,416,419
