It can dwell on things from the past, imagine things in the future, and worry about things in the present all at the same time. This statement may seem humorous and fictional, but it is true. We are human and humans worry. However, it is not a good thing. All the women I know—worry. Some worry a lot, some worry in secret, some talk about the fact that they worry and wish they could get past it, and others do not talk about, but it can be seen in their faces. Rest assured one is not alone when one worries, there are others worrying as well. Many women will also admit, “They know God does not want them to worry,” but they still do. There is good news. There is hope for our worry.

With worrying, I wish I could snap my fingers and it would be gone; but that cannot happen. The good news is that God can help us with worrying. He wants us to be able to serve him; and his Word is full of verses encouraging us and telling us to have faith in him. I do believe worry is a common dart that Satan throws at women.

Eph. 6:13 “Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.”

Satan knows if he can get us down, we are unable to serve our Lord and we can even hinder or discourage others as well. I just want to give a few simple reminders of things we can do to help us not worry. Most of us have probably heard these suggestions. It is nothing new. We need constant reminders to keep us on track for serving the Lord.

How to combat worry: read the Bible every day, pray, stay in church, and fellowship with other Christians. When I miss a day reading my Bible, I just flounder through the day and the day is horrible. Even if one just reads a few verses—read something in God’s Word. Read it while eating breakfast if one has to; b

ut read it. If there are heaps of children running around, put the Bible in the bathroom and disappear for a few minutes and read it. Pray every day. If there is no room in the schedule to pray—pray before the feet hit the ground when getting out of the bed in the morning. Do not miss church. Go every time the doors are open, unless there is sickness of course. This is so vital and it

seems so many Christians are taking church attendance for granted. With all the Covid 19 issues around the world, Christians should be on their knees at the alter when the doors of their church open back up. Fellowship with other Christians. It is easy to feel the doom and gloom and poor me syndromes when by oneself. But when one is with other Christians, it is much easier to feel better about one’s challenges in life; because, there always seems to be someone in the group that has it a lot harder. There are many verses in the Bible to instruct us in the above-mentioned things—go read it. However, I will leave with this favorite verse of mine. I use it all the time to help me keep my focus off of worrying.

I Peter 5:7 “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”

Remember when one thinks no one cares, God loves us all and he cares for us all.

The female mind is a marvel.
