\u201cDaddy, daddy where are you? I cannot see you Daddy.\u201d Jimmy hollered through the thick smoke in his room. He had awakened to a smoke filled room and could not see his Daddy.<\/p>\n

In a panic, Daddy screamed back, \u201cJimmy grab your pillow and go into your closet! Be quick! I\u2019ll come for you in a minute!\u201d<\/p>\n

Jimmy could hear his Mother and Father scrambling down the steps and sirens outside his window. As he coughed, he grabbed his pillow and obey Father\u2019s instruction. He went into the closet, got down low, and hugged his pillow. It seemed like an eternity passed; but soon he could hear stomping on the steps and his bedroom door crashing in. More stomping across the floor. He coughed some more as the closet door was slammed open against the wall. Before he could say anything he was scooped up, hurried down the smoke-filled stairs, and rushed outside.<\/p>\n

Outside people were everywhere. Firetrucks and an ambulance were in the street. Neighbour\u2019s watched with scared faces. The fireman put Jimmy into his Father\u2019s arms. Mother was hugging Father and Father hugged Jimmy tighter than ever before.<\/p>\n

With tears in his eyes, Father spoke up, \u201cJimmy, you look so calm and peaceful.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jimmy tightly hugged his Father and replied, \u201cWhy shouldn\u2019t I be Daddy, you told me you would return for me and I believed you would keep your word. I had nothing to fear Daddy, because you always take such good care of me. I love you Daddy.\u201d<\/p>\n

This should help us realize that we should not fear anything with the Lord on our side. When things come in our lives to cause fear, we need to trust the Lord like Jimmy trusted his Daddy. God does not want us to fear.<\/p>\n

Ps 5:3 \u201cWhat time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.\u201d<\/em><\/span>
\nIsaiah 41:10 \u201cFear thou not; for I am with thee:\u00a0 be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Webster\u2019s 1828 gives this definition for trust, \u201cConfidence; a reliance or resting of the mind on the integrity, veracity, justice, friendship or other sound principle of another person.\u201d<\/p>\n

When we put our trust in something or someone, we are confident that it or he\/she will help in a time of need. We can then put away our fear because we are \u201ctrusting\u201d in that something or someone.<\/p>\n

We put our trust in things every day and sometimes we do not even realize it. My husband recently had back surgery. When his back hurts and he feels as if he cannot go on because of the pain, he uses a cane. He is putting his trust in that cane to help physically support him. He puts away his fear of the pain when he leans on the cane.<\/p>\n

Sometimes we have a problem and someone comes to help. Whether it is a family member or friend, we put away our fear of the problem; because we feel more confident that the problem will get solved or fixed when a person comes to help.<\/p>\n

God wants us to put our trust in him. He does not want us to fear health issues, financial problems, child rearing concerns, home repairs, car repairs, etc. He wants us to:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. To rest in him<\/li>\n
  2. To have confidence in him<\/li>\n
  3. To trust in him<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    God does not want us to fear. There are so many verses in the Bible to help us trust in the Lord and overcome our fears. With a search, the term \u201cfear not\u201d comes up 63 times in the Bible. I would like to encourage everyone to look up these verses, read the Bible and gain comfort in our Lord and do not fear. Below is a simple list of a few of those verses to help us with our daily fears.<\/p>\n

    Ps 5:3 \u201cWhat time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.\u201d<\/em><\/span>
    \nPs 41:13 \u201cFor I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.\u201d<\/em><\/span>\"\"
    \nIsaiah 35:4 \u201cSay to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; he will come and save you.\u201d<\/em><\/span>
    \nLuke 2:10 \u201cAnd the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.\u201d<\/em><\/span>
    \nLuke 12:7 \u201cBut even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.\u201d<\/em><\/span>
    \nRevelation 1:17 \u201cAnd when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
